Big Monti is back, baby, with a new album on Rounder-Europe.The new CD was recorded in The Netherlands in October of 2005 and features Dutch blues masters Danny de Vijlder on guitar and Bart Kamp on bass. On drums and vocals is Boyd Small, a former Portland, Oregon resident who's made his home in Amsterdam for the last ten years. Boyd is also credited with writing half the songs on the CD, including the brilliant (and uncredited) "Plain As Day". The new CD was recorded in only two and a half days and has that live band feel that can only be captured by the most intuitive of musicians.
